Tedium is a private journal. The shortest honest summary: your words are yours, and we cannot read them.
Everything you write or dictate in Tedium is stored on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, in your personal iCloud account. Entries never touch our servers - we do not have servers that store journal content. Voice entries are transcribed on your device by Apple's on-device speech recognition; audio and transcripts stay with you.
Tedium sends a small set of anonymous usage events (for example "an entry was saved" or "onboarding was completed") to PostHog, a product analytics service, so we can tell whether the app works. Each install gets a random identifier that is not tied to your Apple ID or device, and session recording, screen tracking and automatic tap capture are all turned off. These events never include your entry text, transcripts, search queries, name, email, location, or any advertising identifier. They are not linked to you and are not used for tracking. You can turn this off any time in Settings → Privacy → Anonymous usage analytics.
Entry content or anything derived from it. Voice audio. Search queries. Contact details. Location. Advertising identifiers. There are no ads and no third-party tracking SDKs in Tedium.
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. We do not see or store your payment details. To manage your subscription and unlock Tedium Pro across your devices, we use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service. RevenueCat receives your purchase and subscription status along with an anonymous app-generated identifier - never your name, email, or journal content - solely to keep your entitlement in sync. It is not used for advertising or tracking.
If you enable the Face ID lock, authentication happens on your device through Apple's framework. Biometric data never leaves your device and is never available to us.
Delete an entry and it is gone from your device and your iCloud. Delete the app and everything local goes with it. Because we hold nothing, there is nothing for us to delete on a server.
